AAGLA Needs Your Help
in Defeating SB 1439, a Bill that Keeps Owners
from Selling their Properties!!
SB 1439 (Leno) was introduced to stop property owners in San Francisco
from exercising their rights and selling what they want and when they want.
San Francisco is in the midst of a severe housing shortage,
brought on by its failure to build the new housing it has needed in the past
and needs now.
SB 1439 rewards bad behavior!
San Francisco didn’t do its job so they want Sacramento
to take from us!
SB 1439 is nothing more than
a bail-out bill!
What’s more, if Sacramento and San Francisco get away with this bail-out,
who’s next on the list?
Santa Monica? West Hollywood? Los Angeles?
SB 1439 is one of the worst bills
to come along in years,
and, its companion bill –
AB 2504 (Ammiano) – is worse.
Both bills will pass unless lawmakers in Sacramento hear from you!!
Help defeat this awful state bill by calling or faxing two key Senators –
Ricardo Lara and Carol Liu, both of whom sit on
the Senate Committee on Transportation and Housing which will consider the bill next week.
A sample letter is attached (and may be used as talking points if you call).
As an AAGLA member and someone who owns rental housing
ask them to VOTE NO on SB 1439.
The bill will be heard on Tuesday, April 8 so call or fax now!!
